In Cameroon, as in many countries of the world, disabled people are usually considered a burden. It is still believed that people with epilepsy are inhabited by the devil. It is said that the devil invades their bodies and this causes the seizures. Little is done to assimilate them into society. Although there are a few rehabilitation centers, the society at large do not pay much attention to their plight. Many are abandoned to the good nature and benevolence of a few humanitarians.
